Phlomis russeliana

Phlomis russeliana, commonly known as Turkish Sage, is a hardy perennial valued for its architectural form and soft, velvety foliage. In early summer, it sends up tall stems crowned with whorls of pale yellow, hooded flowers, which dry beautifully and remain attractive well into winter.

At Oasis Cottage, we love Phlomis for its long-lasting structure in the border — it pairs beautifully with ornamental grasses, salvias, and echinaceas. Its handsome leaves form a dense groundcover, suppressing weeds and providing texture even when not in bloom.
